F-35 Beddown Program at Eielson Air Force Base: This program provides critical facilities for two squadrons (54 aircraft). Projects will be awarded over three fiscal years. Fiscal year 2016 (which began Oct. 1, 2015) had one project, valued at $32 million. FY 2017 has seven projects, valued at $295.6 million. FY 2018 has seven projects, valued at $127.9 million.

Flight Simulator: The 32,400-square-foot, $19.8 million facility was awarded to Watterson Construction in December 2016; estimated completion: September 2018.

Earth-covered Magazines: This is a design-bid-build 13,197-square-foot project to construct six earth-covered magazines to hold F-35 missiles. The project was awarded in April to the joint venture of Watterson Construction and Callahan Construction at $7.8 million.

Hangar/Propulsion MX/Dispatch: This is a design-bid-build project to construct a 20,796-square-foot, two-bay hangar; a 4,004-square-foot propulsion maintenance area; and a 9,128-square-foot corrosion-control dispatch area. The project was awarded in June to a joint venture between Bethel Federal Services LLC and UNIT COMPANY. The $37.3 million project should wrap up in April 2019.

Field Training Detachment: This is a design-bid-build project to alter 4,197 square feet of Building 4280 to add 23,895 square feet of classrooms and add a high-bay area to support engine maintenance training. Silver Mountain Construction, a subsidiary of Cook Inlet Region Inc., won the bid on the $18 million project. The target completion date is April 2019.

Renovate Building 1337 for Squad Operations/Aircraft Maintenance Unit: This design-build project has a projected value of between $4 million and $7 million. The project is still in solicitation; a bid award is expected in September.

Renovate Building 1338 for Aircraft Maintenance Unit/Weather Shelter: This design-build project has a projected value of between $15 million and $25 million, with an expected award date of March 2018.

Renovate Building 1335 for Squad Operations/Aircraft Maintenance: This design-bid-build project has a projected value of between $10 million and $15 million; award expected in March 2018.

Aircraft Weather Shelters: This design-build project would construct a 77,385 square-foot, 16-bay shelter for Squad 1. Award is expected in January 2018, with a projected value of between $50 million and $65 million.

Aerospace Ground Equipment Facility and Fill Stand: This design-build project would construct a 25,058-square-foot facility and a 1,786-square-foot fill stand. Award is expected in January 2018 with a projected value of between $13 million and $18 million.

Operations Support Squadron/Weapons/Intel Facility: This design-build project would construct a 12,141-square-foot facility. Award is expected in January 2018 with a projected value of between $6 million and $10 million.

Satellite Dining Facility: This design-build project would construct a 4,703-square-foot facility. Award is expected in July 2018 with a projected value of between $5 million and $7 million.

Repair Central Heat and Power Plant Boiler (Phase 3): This design-bid-build project has a projected value of between $22 million and $32 million. Award is expected in January 2018.

Consolidated Munitions Admin Facility: This design-build project would construct a 21,000-square-foot facility. Award is expected in February 2018, with a projected value of between $15 million and $22 million.

South Loop Apron pavement replacement: This design-bid-build project would replace the pavement in the South Loop apron. It will be a two-phase project, with the first phase expected to be awarded in February 2018 and the second phase expected to be awarded in early 2019. The two projects have a projected value of $10 million to $20 million.

South Loop Utilidor: This design-bid-build project would construct a new utilidor to the south loop with steam, condensate and water. Award is expected in 2018, with a projected value of between $25 million and $35 million.

Fuel Truck Covered Parking South Loop: This design-build project would construct a six-bay, 5,801-square-foot shelter. Award is expected in March 2018 with a projected value of between $5 million and $10 million.

Hangar/Squad Operations/Aircraft Maintenance Unit: This design-bid-build project would construct a two-bay hangar with additional room for squadron operations and aircraft maintenance. Award is expected in February 2018 with projected value of between $30 million and $40 million.

Missile Maintenance Facility: This is a design-bid-build project to construct an 11,300-square-foot facility. Award is expected in April 2018 with a projected value of between $5 million and $10 million.

Aircraft Weather Shelter: This design-bid-build project will construct an 81,700-square-foot, 16-bay shelter for Squad 2. Award is expected in May 2018 with projected value of between $50 million and $65 million.

LONG-RANGE DISCRIMINATION RADAR (LRDR) PROGRAM

Mission Control Facility at Clear Air Force Station: This project will build a Mission Control Facility larger than 50,000 square feet, with operations and maintenance space, utilities for the radar system and environmentally controlled equipment areas. A joint venture between UNIT COMPANY and ASRC Builders LLC was awarded the contract in April, with a bid of $112.9 million. The contractor began preparing the site in July.

LRDR Equipment Shelter Foundation: This design-bid-build facility would build a 24,000-square-foot, reinforced concrete foundation on which Lockheed Martin can build its LRDR equipment shelter and radar arrays. Award is expected in 2018 with projected value of between $5 million and $10 million.

LRDR Power Plant: This design-bid-build project would build a backup power plant at Clear, valued at between $120 million and $140 million. Award is expected in March 2019.

LRDR Maintenance Facility: This design-bid-build project would construct a maintenance facility and complete final site work. Award is expected in October 2019, with a projected value of between $9 million and $14 million.

OTHER CLEAR AFS PROJECTS

Fire Station at Clear Air Force Station: This design-bid-build project would construct a fire station with four drive-through vehicle bays, an alarm and communications room, fire detection and suppression systems and other standard features to replace an existing fire station that is undersized for the fire response equipment. Award is expected in September with projected value of between $7 million and $14 million.

OTHER U.S. ARMY CORPS OF ENGINEERS – ALASKA DISTRICT MILITARY PROJECTS

Missile Defense Switch Gear Facility at Fort Greely: This project would construct a shielded switchgear facility to support the two existing In-Flight Interceptor Communications System Data Terminals. The project was awarded in July to Ames1/Conam Joint Venture of Anchorage for $7 million.

Construct truck off-load facility at Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson: This project would build a facility to offload jet fuel into a storage area. It would serve as a backup to the pipeline system that generally serves the base. The project was awarded Aug. 7 to ASRC Builders LLC of Anchorage for $4.9 million.

Unmanned Aircraft System Hangar at Fort Wainwright: This project would construct a cold-climate operations and maintenance hangar with shops, special foundations, taxiways, aircraft aprons and organizational parking. UNIT COMPANY was the successful bidder on the $33.1 million project, with design firm McCool Carlson Green providing design services. The bid was awarded in April and the project is expected to wrap up in November 2018.

Airborne Warning and Control System at JBER: This project would upgrade the JBER AWACS Alert hangar to house aircraft maintenance, squadron operations and crew quarters in the same facility. Award is expected at any time; projected value is between $20 million and $30 million.
